The Client

RM PLC was established over 50 years ago and is the pre-eminent provider of IT solutions to the UK education market. Providing software systems, hardware, services, and infrastructure to schools, colleges, universities, and examination bodies.

The Brief

Brought in on a FTC contract to assist RM in taking to market an exciting new portfolio of IT Services to the education market. Working with the in-house product team to create the value proposition, define the target personas, new name and branding, key messaging, competitive analysis, and sales enablement tools to maximise the impact of this new product launch.

The Impact

The new NX-Generation managed services portfolio was successfully launched in January 2024 with a press release and social media outreach program. Following the sales training, profitable managed services deals are already starting to come in.

Aware of Alan’s reputation from working with him at NTT, he was my first choice for launching our new managed services portfolio. Against very ambitious deadlines he delivered above expectations with a range of marketing assets that really resonate with our audience. The Ten Point Approach

 

Run a series of workshops with the product team and sales to scope out the requirements and strategy

  1. Research the target personas and their pain points
  2. Map these pain points onto solutions within the services portfolio
  3. Construct a holistic family offering from existing point solutions and give the new portfolio a name/identity
  4. Write a compelling story narrative with a value proposition that resonates with the target audience
  5. Create the sales enable tools – presentations, battle cards, playbooks, and training material
  6. Prepare for eternal launch- creating new website pages, brochures, data sheets etc… all with a fresh look and feel
  7. Communications – Amplify the reach with a press release and organic social media across all channels
  8. Encourage the employees to engage as ambassadors and share the launch content
  9. Measure engagement, downloads, leads and report back to stakeholders on success rates
